I’m in dire straits.

I’ve always been picky, but historically, that meant maybe 1 in every 10 books I read was a five star. Then maybe that shrank to 1 in 20.

Regardless of process, this year I’m at less than 1%. It’s nearly the end of June and I’ve only found one new favorite so far this year.

So now, I’m going to read only the books I think are most promising — the most exciting releases, the backlist TBR items I don’t know why I haven’t gotten to yet, other books from reliable authors — until I find another one.

I have no idea how long it will take, so. Let’s get started.
